Inaugural Anniversary Address

Guest Speaker: Professor Tim Flannery: Sustainability - Issues Facing World Cities and World City Universities

UTS celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year and will mark the occasion with the inauguration of the UTS Annual Anniversary Address.

Professor Tim Flannery, one of Australia's leading thinkers and writers will deliver the inaugural address on Thursday 22 May 2008.

A scientist, explorer and conservationist he has published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers and numerous books that have changed the way we think about Australia and the environmental challenges facing both our continent and the world today.

He was named 2007 Australian of the Year. Both here in Australia and in North America, Asia and Europe he has worked tirelessly with governments and business to spur action on climate change.

We invite you to hear Professor Flannery speak about sustainability and the issues facing world cities and world city universities.

Cancer Council: Australia's Biggest Morning Tea

Everyone is invited to participate in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for the NSW Cancer Council. Organised by the UTS Union you can be involved in the following way:
  • The Concourse Café on Level 3A of Building 1, Broadway will be donating $1 from each coffee sold on the Day.
  • General (tax deductible) donations may be made at the Concourse Café from 12th May.
  • Between 11am and 12am there will be catering for 500 on Level 3A of Building 1 Broadway selling fresh scones with jam and cream with a coffee or tea for $5 ($3 of which will be donated). Everyone is welcome.
  • Between 1030am and 1130am there will be catering for 100 in the Kuring-gai Campus Eatery selling fresh scones with jam and cream with a coffee or tea for $5 ($3 of which will be donated). Everyone is welcome.
